John Sawoski Plays Keyboard 2 in Ragtime at Rubicon Theatre Company
John Sawoski joins the orchestra on Keyboard 2 for selected performances of Ragtime at Rubicon Theatre Company in Ventura. Extended by popular demand, the production runs through November 15, 2026.

With music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and a book by Terrence McNally, Ragtime brings E. L. Doctorow’s novel to the stage. Set in early twentieth-century New York, the Tony Award-winning musical intertwines the lives of three families as they navigate a changing America. Its score includes “Wheels of a Dream,” “Make Them Hear You,” and “Back to Before.”
The Rubicon production is directed by J. Scott Lapp, with musical direction by Abdul Hamid Royal and choreography by Natalie Iscovich. Featured performers include Ben Michael, Marisa Moenho, Carter Michael, Chelle Denton, and Danny Becker.
In a review highlighted in Rubicon’s recent announcement, Imaan Jalali of LAexcites describes the production as “A deeply moving, vocally magnificent staging.”
