John Sawoski’s Keyboard Rig for the Pageant of the Masters
This is John Sawoski’s keyboard rig as used with the 28-member 2013 Pageant of the Masters Orchestra throughout summer 2013 in Laguna Beach, CA.
The system consists of two computers running in parallel (for safety), only one of which is used at a time. The computers are each running:
- Keyboard Wizard (from http://www.broadway-performance-systems.com/)
- Cantabile Performer hosting VST instrument plugins: Spectrasonics OmniSphere, 4 instances of Kontakt 5 (with virtual instrument libraries including LA Scoring Strings, EastWest Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra, and numerous custom samples), and EastWest Quantum Leap Pianos – see: https://lapianist.com/pr44.htm#January
Hardware includes:
- Custom-built ACNT Windows 7 desktop computer with Intel(R) Core2 Quad Processor [Q6600 (TM) 2.4 GHz with 1064 MHz FSB] and 4 drive bays including a WD Raptor 150 GB 10k RPM system drive and several 1TB 7200RPM hard drives, in an Antec Sonata III case
- A secondary video monitor, to enable simultaneous quick glancing at conductor and computer.
