Her Judy Garland gigs and album happened because during the pandemic, she decided to record and post YouTube and Facebook selfie videos of herself singing every day, at her home in England. After releasing about 100 videos, she had amassed a following, and attracted the attention of Los Angeles agent and producer Scott Stander, who was instrumental in releasing her debut album with a 30-piece orchestra and arranging her tour, which has taken her to cities on both coasts of the US, and including Carnegie Hall. She comes from a musical family, and her father’s band, Bevis Frond, has released 20 albums (which may explain her work ethic). But of course, none of this would be happening without Debbie’s own vocal talent, sense of humor, amazing stage presence, and her remarkable ability to go in and out of character as Judy Garland (both singing and acting), which has to be seen and heard in person to be believed. Something tells me that she’s got a big career ahead of her.
